Travel & Stay
For those of you traveling, we know it’s a haul! We hope you can tack on a few extra vacation days and enjoy your time in the Pacific NW.
Airports:
Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM)
The Redmond Airport is the closest option, just a 20 minute drive from downtown Bend. It’s a tiny airport so security is chill, people are nice, you won’t have to take a shuttle and you won’t get lost. If you’re flying to Redmond, you’ll likely have to stop at a larger nearby airport first (like Seattle).
Portland Airport (PDX)
The Portland Airport is a much larger airport, which means you’ll likely have more options at a lower cost. Portland is about 3 hours and 30 minutes from Bend…but it is a gorgeous drive through the Cascade Mountains.
Rental Cars:
Bend does have a great Uber/Lyft car service scene so you’ll be able to get around town fairly easy with those options. We definitely recommend you use a car service like this to and from the wedding!
However, we do recommend renting a car so you’re able to move freely around Bend and explore! If you have other friends coming, perhaps you could share a rental.
Housing:
Airbnb
Similar to rental cars, we definitely recommend renting an Airbnb with friends or family. It’s a cost saving option that also gives you more space and flexibility. There are a lot of great rentals all over Bend, including a bunch near the wedding venue. Every neighborhood in Bend has its appeal. And the great thing is that most everything is about a 10 minute drive apart. If you have a couple properties in mind and want a gut check give us a call!
If you want to stay closer to coffee shops, restaurants and the action of Bend, we recommend finding a place near Old Mill, the Box Factory of Downtown. The Northwest Crossing neighborhood is the higher-end side of town and also has a great little shopping and food area.
If you want to be a bit more remote, Seventh Mountain Resort is a lovely property with lots of condos for rent on Airbnb. It is also right near our wedding venue! Other areas to check out would be Tetherow, Sunriver, Pronghorn and Brasada Ranch.
Hotels
For hotels, there are a bunch of great options. Here are some of the ones we’d recommend:
Traditional Hotels:
Springhill Suites by Marriott
This is a newer hotel with really nice modern rooms. The hotel is also within walking distance to great food and shopping near the “Box Factory” area. You’re also just a short walk to the river.
Residence Inn by Marriott Bend
Located just a short walk from the Old Mill area. This is another modern option within walking distance to great food and activities.
Hampton Inn & Suites Bend
We love that this hotel is located right on the river. Wake up in the morning and take a stroll along the river trail or pop into a coffee shop.
Hilton Garden Inn Bend
This hotel is located in the Old Mill area, which is a lovely open air shopping mall. You’ll be within walking distance to all sorts of fun.
Oxford Hotel
Located right in the downtown area, this is one of the fancier hotels in town.
Unique Hotels:
McMenamins Old St. Francis School Theater
McMenamins has converted old historical buildings all over Oregon. This property is an old school and theater, and has been converted to a hotel with a theater and great bars and restaurants. It’s located right in downtown Bend and also has some fun soaking pools.
Campfire Hotel
This is a local favorite! This motel has been updated with all the hip modern amenities you could need. There is even a pool on the property and a great bar.
LOGE Bend
Similar to the Campfire Hotel, LOGE is also a motel that’s been upgraded. It’s located right on the Deschutes National Forest with trails right outside your door. It also has a pool!
